I just read an article from the Star Tribune about soldiers from my hometown who are in Iraq.  It’s kind of random that they picked my town, and I’m not especially close to any of those mentioned who are overseas, but I definitely got choked up anyway.  I don’t know that anyone not from our community would respond the same way, because it was all in the details: quoting my teachers, for instance…or the fact that I could picture almost everyone mentioned or quoted in the article…or remembering that the paper was displayed at the Handi-Stop when I went home for the weekend.  The best part was that the journalist tried to explain how each person quoted was related to the soldiers.  Even I got confused.  We are a small town…and we are proud.
